What is HTRF?
HTRF (Homogeneous Time-Resolved Fluorescence) is a highly sensitive, non-radioactive, and homogeneous assay technology used to study protein–protein interactions (PPIs) and signaling pathways. It combines fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) with time-resolved measurement to minimize background and increase accuracy.
Key Advantages of HTRF
- High sensitivity and specificity for protein-protein interaction detection.
- Homogeneous assay: no wash steps needed, reducing experimental variability.
- Compatible with high-throughput screening, ideal for drug discovery.
- Quantitative measurement of protein interactions in real-time.
Applications of HTRF in Research
HTRF is widely used in:
- Mapping signaling pathways in plant and animal cells.
- Drug discovery and small molecule screening targeting protein-protein interactions.
- Studying protein complex formation and dissociation dynamics.
