Embracing Solitude
The time spent alone is inevitably filled with solitude. With no one to talk to and nothing pressing to do, it’s easy to kill time by scrolling through videos. At first, I found being alone deeply uncomfortable. My previous job had been busy and demanding, and years of stress and constant anxiety had kept my nerves perpetually tense, never allowing me a moment of relaxation. Suddenly having free time left me disoriented, as if the rhythm my body had long relied on had been disrupted, leaving me unsure of what to do each morning.
But this uneasy phase didn’t last long. To maintain some semblance of my previous routine, I chose to continue working on similar tasks, this time from home.
The greatest benefit of working from home is the freedom of time. Without fixed office hours, I could decide my own schedule. Once daily tasks were completed, the rest of the day was entirely mine—free from distractions, office politics, and endless social negotiations. All my energy could be devoted to my entrepreneurial endeavors; every effort I made was purely for my work.
Yet, the downside of working from home is inescapable: solitude. In the early stages of entrepreneurship, you are often alone, with only your computer as your companion. Most of your day is spent staring at the screen. Without strong self-discipline and patience, it’s nearly impossible to persist.
The loneliness of solo entrepreneurship is hard to capture in words. It’s not just the absence of conversation—it’s also the sense of confusion and discouragement when progress is slow. When results are not immediately visible, you are left to talk only to yourself, reflecting constantly to find solutions. You may feel trapped in a void, a space where only you exist, with no boundaries, no signs of life, and no escape. The only way forward is to learn to coexist with this solitude until your efforts begin to bear fruit. The noise of the outside world passes you by, the seasons change as usual, and you remain in your small personal universe, enduring solitude independently.
The path of entrepreneurship is long and winding. Success never comes easily. To glimpse the dawn on the other side, you must learn to embrace solitude, to cultivate patience and resilience in isolation. It is far from easy—entrepreneurship is, by nature, extremely challenging. Only by pushing yourself beyond the limits of ordinary people can you see what they cannot.
Solitude allows you to step away from the clamor of the world, deepening your reflection on life and work. It strengthens your mind, so that even in adversity, you remain calm and composed. More importantly, solitude fuels your drive, sparking a hunger for success that provides endless energy for your journey.
This article is for those of you who are in the midst of entrepreneurship—and also for myself. May we all learn to embrace solitude, bear the weight of independence, and grow on our own. May we walk steadfastly toward the peaks that belong to us.
